„Orlinski Red“ (runs) in Hublot’s veins

The Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Orlinski has been paired with Hublot’s patented red ceramic. The colour of life and of passion, red evokes Richard Orlinski’s firstBorn Wild Crocodile sculpture. Created in 2004, it features this vivid and powerful shade of red, which has since gone on to become the most recognisable colour in his menagerie. A fascinating yet paradoxical colour, the colour red symbolises the sometimes contradictoryextremes of our sentiments. Love, rage, courage, risk, prohibition, zeal… A watch which appealsto the emotions.

A few months ago, at Baselworld 2018, Hublot expanded its catalogue of innovations by adding a new feat: the first ceramic to be created in a vibrant colour. Taking four years to develop from concept to industrialisation, and requiring innovations in materials and manufacturing processes (a fusion of pressure and heat which sinters the ceramic without burning its pigments), the ceramic created is harder than previously seen (1500 HV1 versus 1200 HV2). This expertise was developed in tandem by Hublot’s Research & Development department and Metallurgy and Materials laboratory, a 100% in-house process, resulting in a secret formula protected by several patents.

Since 2017 Richard Orlinski, the world’s bestselling contemporary artist, has been adding his angular style to Hublot watches. Works of art for the wrist, these feature his signature facets, nuanced with angles and edges. Like his sculptures, the Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Orlinski Red Magic boasts the sharp three-dimensional sculpted lines and polished finish which are the artist’s trademark.

The Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Orlinski Red Magic is released in a limited edition of 200 pieces. 45 mm of art and innovation crafted from Hublot’s red ceramic. From the seconds hand to the counters and indexes; from the case to the bezel, all the way to the strap, nothing has escaped the vivid glow of Hublot x Orlinski red. Its sapphire case back reveals the HUB1155 self-winding skeleton chronograph movement.
