Biography (Sonja Piontek)
Sonja Piontek was born in Munich in 1976. She studied cultural economics with a focus on Southeast Asian Studies at the University of Passau and the Universitas Padjadjaran in Central Java (Indonesia). Piontek discovered her passion for writing during a 2-year assignment in New Zealand and has since worked as a freelance photo journalist for international magazines and journals. She lived and worked for three years as Senior Project Manager Marketing in Beijing.
