Ellipse will battle Altaris for the 2021 East Coast Gold Cup!

It was an exciting day of high-goal polo action at the Greenwich Polo Club, with both semi-finals being played to decide Sunday’s matchup. In the day’s first semi-final, Ellipse took on White Birch Farm in a rematch of their earlier E.C Gold Cup meeting, where Ellipsis earned an overtime win. However, today’s match would be settled in regulation, once again favoring Ellipse. Despite an 8 goal performance by White Birch’s Pablo Llorente, Ellipsis took the win 10-9 to punch their ticket for Sunday’s final. Lucas Diaz Alberdi and Toli Ulloa both scored four goals apiece for Ellipsis en route to the victory.

In the second semi-final, Altaris could not be stopped after taking an early lead over IGEA. The team in maroon never looked back, scoring a combined 12 goals to best IGEA 12-9. The leading scorer of the match was Lerin Zubiaurre, who scored 7 goals to highlight the Altaris offense. Gringo Colombres was the top scorer for IGEA, making 5 goals alongside Juan Redlich with 2 goals.
